Yūichi Suzumoto

Yūichi Suzumoto ( Japanese 涼 元 悠 一 , Suzumoto Yūichi , born January 13, 1969 in Shimizu (today: Shimizu-ku , Shizuoka ), Japan ) is a Japanese novelist . He was involved as a scenario writer in the creation of Ren'ai-Adventure Air , Clannad and Planetarian: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume and was able to win several prizes.

Career

After graduating from high school, he wrote the novel Waga Seishun no Hokusei Kabe ( 我 が 青春 の 北 西 壁 ) in 1991 and submitted it to the 16th Great Cobalt Novel Prize, which was awarded by Shūeisha and won first prize. In March 1992 he published the novel Aitsu wa Dandelion ( あ い つ は ダ ン デ ィ ー ・ ラ イ オ ン ) under the label Cobalt Bunko . In 1998 he wrote the novel Aoneko no Machi ( 青 猫 の 街 ). With this he reached the 10th Japan Fantasy Novel Award together with Rin Sawamura, the second place out of 431 entries.

When the Ren'ai adventure Kanon was published in 1999 , it made such an impression on Suzumoto that he applied to Visual Art’s , whose department had developed Key Kanon . Since February 2000 he has worked as a writer for the various brands of Visual Art's.

He worked on the 2000 title Air and supported the development of Giant Panda's Mamahaha Chōkyō . In 2001 he worked again for Giant Panda and on their new game Shoyakenjō . In the same year, work began on Clannad, which only appeared in 2004. In the meantime, Yūichi Suzumoto worked on various other games for the Visual Art's brands. The next milestone in development was the Kinetic Novel Planetarian - Chiisana Hoshi no Yume, which was also released in 2004.

In September 2005 he left Visual Art's and in September of the next year found a job at Aquaplus , the publisher of Ren'ai adventure developer Leaf .

In December 2006 he published the web novel Die Nachtjäger: Bodaijusō no Yami Kari Hime on his website , which later appeared as a light novel on SoftBank's label GA Bunko .
