Yūji Yokoyama ( Japanese 横山 雄 次 , Yokoyama Yūji ; born July 6, 1969 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Yokoyama learned to play soccer on the school team of Bunan High School and the university team of Chūō University . He signed his first contract with Hitachi (today: Kashiwa Reysol) in 1992 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Football League . In 1994 he was runner-up with the club in the Japan Football League and rose to the J1 League . For the club, he completed 53 top division games. In 1998 he moved to league rivals Avispa Fukuoka . For the club he completed 18 first division games. In 1999 he moved to the second division Omiya Ardija . For the club he completed 34 games. At the end of 200 he ended his career as a football player.
