AB YIT Kausta is a construction company in Lithuania based in Kaunas . In Soviet Lithuania it was a combine .
history
In 1966 the Kaunas House Building Combine was established ( Kauno namų statybos Kombatas ). In 1977, 132,000 m² of residential area were built. Kauno valstybinis statybos Kombatas was registered on January 23, 1991 . On January 4, 1993, AB “YIT Kausta” was registered. They built in Russia , Belarus , Lithuania ( Šilainiai residential area in Kaunas). In 1998 "YIT Corporation" bought 6,560,800 (65.6%) shares from AB "Kausta". In 2004 "Kausta" became AB "YIT Kausta" and the subsidiary UAB "Alkausta" became UAB "YIT Kausta būstas". In 2005 the "Mega" shopping and leisure center was built in Kaunas. In 2007 the company had 946 employees. In 2014 there were 383 employees.
