History and use

The port was opened in September 1960 after the port basin was created by gravel. A few years earlier, the Römerwardt airfield had already been laid out. The yacht club and RTGW have been based there since it opened . In 2012 the Wesel Yacht Club had 118 boats. The port bears the Blue Flag quality mark .
