Yagmar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tribe of the Yagmar or Yagmaren (own name: Yağmar ) are of Turkic origin. They are first mentioned in 840 in the Muslim geographic work Hudūd al-ʿĀlam . There it is said that the Yagmar, with the destruction of the Uyghur empire , moved to the west as nomads and worshiped their own king. Probably the members of the Uyghur royal house who were not killed by the Kyrgyz lived in this tribe .

The Yagmar were considered vassals of the neighboring Karluken and went on in the following time in the Qarakhanid Empire .
