Yair Galily (born July 10, 1970 in Petach Tikwa ) is an Israeli sociologist and dean of Zinman College at the Wingate Institute . He is one of the pioneers of sports sociology in Israel.

Life

Galily studied at Clark University in Worchester (Master of Science 1996) and earned his Ph.D. at Leicester University . Galily is a senior lecturer and founder of a research group for the Israel Football Association . He is also a member of the UEFA Club Licensing Committee and the Israeli Communications Association. He is Lieutenant Colonel in the Israel Defense Forces Reserve and works as a sociologist for the Army's Combat Fitness Center. Together with Amir Ben-Porat , he is considered one of the pioneers of sports sociology in Israel. He is a co-founder of the Olympic Studies Center of the Olympic Committee of Israel / Wingate Institute and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Academic Sport Association.
