Yakovkin is an impact crater on the southwestern edge of the lunar front , west of Phocylides crater and northwest of Pingré . The rim of the crater is heavily eroded, the interior largely flat.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1985 after the Russian astronomer Awenir Alexandrowitsch Jakowkin .
