The Yalaxiangbo (also Yala-Xiangbo or Yalaxanbo ; Chinese 雅拉 香波 ) is a mountain in the autonomous region of Tibet .
The 6635 m high Yalaxiangbo rises in the Shannan administrative district 125 km southeast of Lhasa . The Yalaxiangbo massif belongs to the Lhagoi Kangri , the so-called "North Himalayas". The upper reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo runs 50 km north. The flanks of the Yalaxiangbo are drained to this. The mountain consists of a leucogranite -dom which in Eozän (42 ± 5 Ma originated).
Ascent history
In August / September 2001 there was a first attempt at ascent by a Japanese expedition, but it was canceled due to bad weather. The Yalaxiangbo was finally climbed for the first time in 2007. On October 16, 2007, Makoto Takahashi, Yoshida and Phunuru Sherpa reached the summit.
