Yalmakan FC

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yalmakan FC is a Mexican football club based in Puerto Morelos , Quintana Roo . The term Yalmakan comes from the Mayan language and means blue paradise . Because of the club logo containing a symbol of Chak Mo'ol , the team was nicknamed Los Chacmools .

history

The franchise was launched in May 2013 to play in the fourth-rate Tercera División .

The club rose in 2016 to the Liga de Nuevos Talentos of the third-class Segunda División and signed Carlos Bracamontes as coach before the 2016/17 season . Already in its first half season , the Apertura 2016, the team proved to be an asset to the league when they won more games than they lost. Then the second half of the season, the Clausura 2017, was sensational, when the team remained unbeaten in the league round (10 wins and 2 draws) and then both the championship title of the Clausura 2017 and (against the second team of the UAT Correcaminos ) the championship of the overall season 2016 / 17 could secure. In the following half-season (Apertura 2017) the Chacmools were able to defend their title and at the end of the season (through a success against the Albinegros de Orizaba ) also win the championship for the overall season 2017/18.
