successor YZF 600 R Thundercat

The FZR 600 R is a motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Yamaha , which was built from 1994 to 1995. Technically it has a lot in common with the successor model YZF 600 R Thundercat and looks similar to the YZF 750 . In addition to the 4JH, there is also a 4MH (throttled to 34 hp ex works) and a 4MM (for Austria, Switzerland and Sweden).

In America the FZR 600 R was sold as the YZF 600 R.

Model development

In 1995 some changes were made to the chassis, in contrast to the 1994 model, preload, rebound and compression levels are fully adjustable at the front and rear of the chassis. In addition, the FZR was given a new decor.

Recall campaign

In 1995 there was a recall due to the risk of breaking the piston rod of the rear shock absorber. The following chassis numbers are affected:
