Yang Dongliang
Yang Dongliang ( Chinese 楊棟樑 , Pinyin Yáng Dòngliáng ; born January 1954 , Qing County, Hebei Province ) is a former Chinese politician who worked for a long time in the city of Tianjin . In August 2015, an investigation into him was opened by the Chinese Communist Party's anti-corruption unit , the Central Disciplinary Commission . He was previously the director of the State Occupational Safety and Health Administration and previously the deputy mayor of Tianjin. Yang became a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in 2012 .
Life
Yang joined the Communist Party in December 1973. Since 1972 he worked in the oil industry in Hebei. He was the company's deputy party secretary from June 1983 to September 1987.
From September 1985 to September 1987 he studied engineering management in Beijing. From September 1995 to January 1998 he studied economic policy at the Central Party School.
He worked in various state-owned enterprises in Tianjin City before becoming the city's deputy mayor in March 2001. In June 2004 he was re-elected to this position.
In January 2007, he received a doctorate in law from the China Political Science and Law University . In May 2012 he was promoted to Director of the State Administration for Occupational Safety.
On August 18, 2015 - a few days after the Tianjin blast - the Communist Party's Central Disciplinary Commission announced that an investigation into Yang had been initiated for "serious violations of law and discipline" and that he had been released from his duties.
