Yang Feng ( Chinese  楊奉 ) was a cavalry officer of the Later Han Dynasty . He fought against the Yellow Turbans from 184 with Xu Huang and later served the warlord Dong Zhuo on his campaigns in Liang Province and was assigned to General Li Jue .

Dong Zhuo controlled the imperial court from 189. He deposed the young Emperor Liu Bian and raised the young Liu Xie to Emperor Xian in his stead . Soon a coalition of generals from all over the empire formed against him. Dong Zhuo moved to the strategically located city of Chang'an , which was the capital of the Former Han Dynasty . He had the previous capital, Luoyang , burned down.

After the fall of Dong Zhuo (192), his confidants Li Jue and Guo Si took control of the emperor. Together with Dong Cheng , Yang Feng supported the emperor in his escape from the capital Chang'an in 196. The emperor and his followers were invited by the warlord Cao Cao to his headquarters in Xuchang . There Yang Feng clashed with Cao Cao and went to see Yuan Shu , who declared himself emperor by virtue of the imperial seal the next year. Yang Feng's future fate is uncertain; Yuan Shu succumbed to attacks by his rivals Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Lü Bu just two years later .
