Yann Marti (born June 7, 1988 in Sierre ) is a Swiss tennis player .

Career

Yann Marti mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour in the individual competition. On the ITF Future Tour he has so far reached eight finals, of which he has won two. On October 6, 2013, he faced local heroes Theodoros Angelinos in the final of the Greek F13 Future tournament, whom he defeated in straight sets, and on February 2, 2014 he won the Turkish F1 Future tournament against Carlos Boluda Purkiss. His best result so far on the Challenger Tour was the semi-finals at the Challenger tournament in Andria .

He made his debut on the ATP World Tour on July 25, 2010 at the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad , where he was able to qualify for the main draw for the first time via the qualifying rounds. In his first round game against his compatriot Alexander Sadecky , he ultimately left the field as a loser, but made up almost a hundred places in the tennis world rankings . A year later he succeeded again in Gstaad, but again he lost his first game in the main field, this time against the Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer clearly in two sets.
