Yann Samuell (born June 7, 1965 in France ) is a French film director and screenwriter.

Life

After attending film school, Samuell turned to short films . Mano-e-mano dates from 1994 . Later he worked in the documentary field . His debut as a feature film director and screenwriter was in 2003 for the film Love Me If You Dare ( Jeux d'enfants ). The main roles were played by Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard . The music was written by Philippe Rombi . His second film in 2008 was My Sassy Girl, which was screenplayed by Victor Levin.

In 2009 Samuell wrote the screenplay for the film Formosa Betrayed . In 2010 his film Vergissmichnicht ( L'Âge de raison ) with Sophie Marceau was released . In 2011 Samuell directed the remake of The War of the Buttons .
