Yao Ximing
Yao Ximing ( Chinese 姚喜明 , born August 15, 1956 ) is a former Chinese badminton player who later started for the USA.
Career
Yao Ximing attracted particular attention in team competitions in the first half of the 1980s. In the Thomas Cup 1982 he was a regular in the Chinese men's national team and contributed to winning the world title with a win in the semifinals against Denmark and in the final against Indonesia, always playing doubles with Sun Zhi'an .
In 1979 he became world champion of the little important world association WBF in doubles with Sun Zhi'an . At the IBF World Cup in 1983 they were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Yao Ximing later played for the USA and won the US Open there . After his active career, he worked there and in Canada as a trainer.
