Yassin Mikari (born January 9, 1983 in Zurich ) is a Swiss - Tunisian football player . He has both nationalities .
Career
In the club
Mikari grew up in Zurich. In his youth he played at FC Unterstrass before he moved to the youth department of FC Zurich . In summer 2001 he went to local rivals Grasshoppers Zurich .
In the National League A , as the top division of Switzerland was called at the time, he made his debut on May 4, 2002 in the game against BSC Young Boys , when he came on for Eduardo Dos Santos in the 75th minute. In the 4-1 away win, he contributed the decisive goal to make it 2-1. In his second season, when he was national champion with the club, he was on the field three times. Overall, the left footer came to GCZ five appearances in the first division.
After two years, Mikari moved to FC Luzern in the Challenge League . In his first year he attracted attention with seven goals this season. In his second year he scored two goals this season in ten games and was lured away by league rivals FC Winterthur in January 2005 . With strong performances, he recommended himself for a commitment in the top division and in January 2007 he returned to the Grasshoppers. Originally used in left midfield, he ousted Kim Jaggy to the position of left full-back. In 2009 he moved to FC Sochaux .
In July 2013 he returned to his country of birth and signed a three-year contract with FC Luzern until the end of the 2016/17 season. At the beginning of his comeback at FC Luzern , he often took a place on the bench, but was able to put offensive accents when he was substituted on and stand out defensively with a solid and aggressive style of play. Also because of his performance, he was able to secure a regular place on the left (defensive or offensive) side in the second half of the season.
In the national team
Mikari played for various youth national teams of the Swiss federation, most recently in the U21 selection , for which he played seven games.
Mikari was accepted into Tunisia 's senior national team in the 2007/08 season , with which he also played the 2008 and 2010 Africas Cups .
