Yavuz Bingöl (born October 7, 1964 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish folk musician and actor.

biography

Yavuz Bingöl's family, whose eldest child he was, comes from the province of Kars in northeastern Anatolia. His mother (* 1943) is a well-known folk singer ( Aşık ) under the name Şahsenem Bacı . Since his father, Yılmaz Bingöl, was a teacher and was regularly transferred, the family had to move often. Between 1970 and 1975, Bingöl attended four different primary schools in Kars, Konya , Istanbul and Ankara . Bingöl finished his musical training in 1979. After his military service in 1986 he married. In 1989 he founded the band Grup Umuda Ezgi with Nihat Aydın , which he left in 1995. Since 1995 he has released eleven albums. In 2012 the last album "Ateş" was released.

In addition to his musical career, Bingöl began to act in films from 1998, initially with small supporting roles. The film O Simdi Asker was nominated as best Turkish film at the International Istanbul Film Festival . Since 2007 he has shared the lead role with Yetkin Dikinciler in the popular TV series "Esref Saati". In 2008 he starred in the award-winning film Üç maymun by Nuri Bilge Ceylan .
