Yelcho Canyon

The Yelcho Canyon is a deep ditch in the Weddell Sea east of the Antarctic Peninsula .
It is named after the Chilean steam tug Yelcho , with whose help the part of the endurance expedition (1914–1917) of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, which had disappeared on Elephant Island, was rescued in August 1916 .
