The The Yerkes National Primate Research Center near Atlanta , Georgia at the Emory University is one of eight national research centers in the field of primatology , by the National Institutes of Health funded.

The research center was founded in 1930 by Robert Yerkes . It was relocated from Orange Park , Florida to Atlanta in 1965 .

In 1942, Karl Lashley succeeded Yerkes as head of the research center.
