Yineth Varón

Yineth Varón (born June 23, 1982 in Ibagué ) is a Colombian soccer player . The goalkeeper is a Colombian national player .

She played with Colombia in 2006 qualifying for the 2007 World Cup , but where the team did not reach the finals. At the South American Championship 2010 , Colombia reached the final, whereby the team qualified for the World Championship 2011 in Germany. There she was not part of the squad at first, but was nominated after Paula Forero was injured. Shortly before the tournament, Varón's doping test was positive for nandrolone during a training check in Leverkusen and she was banned for two years. After her suspension, she was called back to the squad of the national team, which again reached the finals at the South American Championship in 2014 and thus qualified for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
