Yoshinobu Nisaka ( Japanese 仁 坂 吉 伸 , Nisaka Yoshinobu ; born October 2, 1950 in Wakayama , Wakayama Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician and has been the governor of Wakayama Prefecture since 2006.

Life

After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1974, Nisaka was initially a civil servant at MITI , and later at the successor METI Ministry . In 2003 he became the Japanese ambassador to Brunei . Then in 2006 worked briefly for the "Japanese Trade Council" ( 日本 貿易 会 , Nippon Bōeki-kai , English Japan Foreign Trade Council ).

In November 2006, Wakayama Governor Yoshiki Kimura resigned after being arrested in a public-procurement bribe scandal. Nisaka ran for Kimura's successor with the support of the LDP and Kōmeitō . The election on December 17, 2006, he decided against the CPY- backed Toshitaka Izumi clearly for himself. On November 28, 2010, he was against the DPJ - NVP -based Mariko Fujimoto a CPY-based candidate and clearly re-elected for a second term at the election in November 2014 against only one, communist challenger for a third confirmed.
