Yoshiteru Himuro

Yoshiteru Himuro is a Japanese musician and DJ who is known for his mostly electronic music .

The English record label "Worm Interface" released Himuro's first album, Nichiyobi , in 1998, alongside musicians like Tom Jenkinson ( Squarepusher ) and Freeform. Roughly speaking, Himuro's publications belong to the genre IDM or electronica , partly also jazz , jungle, drum and bass and hip-hop .

His style is often described in the media as very playful. In many pieces, chopped up, often very fast beats in combination with jazzy basses and synthesizer lines, combined with numerous 8-bit sounds (similar to the music of video games), which ultimately define his style. He is one of the outstanding Japanese musicians of this time, especially in this field.

Some of his pieces were featured on John Peel's famous radio show on BBC Radio 1 . The track "Copy of Copy" was later released for download on the netlabel series Tribute to John Peel (John Peel Day).

When performing live, he mainly uses his laptop and the associated MIDI controllers and effects devices.
