Kim You-Young

Kim You-Young is a Korean violist .

Kim studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and earned a Masters degree from the Juilliard School of Music . She kicked u. a. at the Kneiselhall Festival , the Henry Mancini Festival , the Malta International Music Festival , the Mark O'Connor's String Conference and the La Jolla Music Festival and has worked with ensembles such as the New York String Ensemble , Colin and Eric Jacobsen's chamber orchestra The Knights and the JK Ensemble together.

As a soloist, chamber musician, she combines a wide variety of musical styles and traditions. She has performed with klezmer musician Yale Strom , turntablist DJ Radar and is a member of Yo-Yo Mas Silk Road Ensemble . In 2008 she worked on the album Yo-Yo Ma & Friends: Songs of Joy & Peace .
