Young Dolph (* 11. August 1985 in Chicago , civic Adolph Thornton Jr. ) is an American rapper and music publishers .

life and career

Dolph was born in Chicago and moved to Memphis at the age of two , where he and his two brothers grew up with his grandmother in the socially disadvantaged district of Castalia Heights . Dolph has two sisters who grew up with his other grandmother in Chicago. He graduated from high school but never went to college . Since 2009, Dolph has published a series of mixtapes on which he presented his signature style, which mixes classic elements of the Dirty South with texts living on punchlines , to the public. He had his breakthrough in 2014 with the song Preach from the mixtape High Class Street Music 4 and the accompanying music video . In the same year Dolph had a son. 2016 appeared Dolph's debut album King of Memphis, which ranked No. 49 in the US album charts was able to place . All of Dolph's publications came out through his own independent label Paper Route Empire . He has worked with many other artists including 2 Chainz , Metro Boomin and Rick Ross . As a guest rapper on the single Cut It by OT Genasis , he reached number 35 in the single charts .
