features

The moths reach a wingspan of 20 to 21 millimeters and have a basic white color with brown to black markings.

Occurrence

Ypsolopha asperella occurs in Central and Northern Europe , as well as in Siberia .

Way of life

The larvae live on apple trees ( Malus domestica ), blackthorn ( Prunus spinosa ) and hawthorns ( Crataegus ). They feed on the leaves in loose webs. The pupation takes place in a yellowish cocoon on the underside of leaves.
