Yuh Myung-woo
Yuh Myung-woo (* 10. January 1964 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a former South Korean boxers in the light flyweight .
Professional career
In 1982 he started his professional career successfully. On December 8, 1985, he boxed against Joey Olivo for the WBA world championship and won on points. He defended this belt a total of 17 times in a row and lost it to Hiroki Ioka on December 17, 1991 .
However, he beat Ioka in a direct rematch, which took place on November 18 of the following year, by majority decision and thus regained the WBA world championship belt. In June 1993, he defended the title against Yuichi Hosono unanimously on points.
After this victory, Yuh Myung-woo ended his career and resigned as world champion.
In 2013, Yuh Myung-woo was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
