Monstagon is a rock band from Hanover that was founded in 2012.
history
Monstagon were founded on December 21, 2012 in Hanover. The group points out that this date corresponds to the end of the Mayan calendar .
The first public appearance took place in March 2015. In July the band performed in Wuppertal as part of a LARP event. In the same year the group reached a large audience through several appearances on the Wasteland Stage of the Wacken Open Air. Even before the performance at Wacken Open Air, a music video was financed and shot by means of a crowdfunding campaign for the song Engines of Vengeance . The debut album of the same name was released in June. October 2015 Monstagon appeared as opening act for Equilibrium in Bremen.
concept
The band pursues a “ post-apocalyptic ” overall concept. The stage costumes and sets, the legends of the musicians and the stage show are based on the Mad Max film series. In the implementation of this concept, in addition to the musicians, corresponding actors also appear at concerts.
Trivia
- The guitarist Schrammel builds custom guitars in his own workshop , including those for Metallica and the Scorpions .
- In August 2015, the song “Heart of Wheels” was rearranged as the run-in music for the American football team Arminia Spartans Hanover and played live for the first time at the home game against the Hamburg Pioneers.
