Yūki Nakayama

Yūki Nakayama ( Japanese 中山 友 貴 , Nakayama Yūki ; born July 29, 1987 in Kanazawa ) is a Japanese automobile racing driver . He has been competing in the Super GT since 2009 .

Career

Nakayama began his motorsport career in karting in 2002 , in which he was active until 2004. Among other things, he was runner-up in the 2004 Asia-Pacific CIK-ICA championship . In 2006 he switched to formula racing . He first competed in the Japanese Formula Challenge and finished fourth with two wins. Two years in the Japanese Formula 3 championship followed . In 2007 he was ninth, in 2008 eighth overall. Overall, he achieved a podium placement.

In 2009 Nakayama switched to GT racing and started for Nakajima Racing in the Super GT . He finished his first season in 16th place in the championship. The next season he improved to 13th place overall. In 2011, Nakayama achieved the first podium finish in the Super GT and ended the season in twelfth place in the drivers' standings. In 2012 Nakayama stayed in the Super GT. After the third race he was without points. He also took part in a Formula Nippon race for HP Real Racing .
