Yuma Proving Ground
Yuma Proving Ground is one of the largest military sites in the world at 3,367 km². It is located in the US state of Arizona in Yuma County and La Paz County and belongs to the US Army . Because the site is around sea level, it's a good place to test helicopters. Parts of the US Special Operations Command train here regularly , e. B. the Green Berets .
Stationed units and facilities
The Joint Military Freefall School , the central cross-armed forces skydiving school for special military jumping techniques such as HALO and HAHO, is located on the site .
A Combat Training Range Detachment (CTR DET) of the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) of the US Naval Special Warfare Command (NAVSPECWARCOM) is also stationed here.
