The Turkish phrase Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh (in German : peace in the homeland, peace in the world ) is one of the guiding principles of Kemalism . Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh was first proclaimed in front of the public by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on April 20, 1931 and is the motto of Turkish foreign policy. The entire original sentence was:

" Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkası'nın müstakar umumî siyasetini şu kısa cümle açıkça ifadeye kâfidir zannederim: Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh için çalışıyoruz. "

- Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

Since the language reforms to Turkification adopted contemporary version is "Yurtta barış, Dünyada barış" .
