Yutaka Oomura

Yutaka Oomura ( 大村 裕 Ōmura Yutaka ; * January 4, 1925 in Kyūshū ) is a Japanese neuroscientist .

Life

After studying medicine, which he graduated in 1947, Oomura was appointed professor of physiology at the Kyūshū University in Fukuoka in 1956 , but moved to Kagoshima University that same year . From 1963 he was at Kanazawa University , then after 1974 again at Kyushu University. His research areas include nerve conduction and information transfer to smooth muscles as well as the functions of the hypothalamus .
