Yuval Ron
Yuval Ron (born July 18, 1963 ) is an Israeli musician and composer .
Life
Ron began composing for films and dance performances in the early 1980s. He mainly plays the oud instrument . He directs the Yuval Ron Ensemble , which plays international music ( world music ) and combines Jewish, Armenian and Sufi music.
Yuval Ron is vegan .
Due to Islamist campaigns against Israel, the Yuval Ron Ensemble canceled a concert planned in Istanbul in June 2011 .
Honors and prizes
- 2007: Academy Award (Oscar) for the short film West Bank Story , for which he wrote the music
