West Bank Story is an American short film directed by Ari Sandel in 2005.

action

The film is a parody of the musical West Side Story , an adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet in the New York of 50 years. The action takes place in the West Bank (West Bank) today and depicts the romance between the Israeli soldier David ( Ben Newmark ) and the Palestinian saleswoman Fatima ( Noureen DeWulf ). Their warring families run falafel restaurants on the same street . David's family runs the Kosher King , when the family procures a new machine and it sticks out onto the Hummus Hut after it has been set up, the Hummus Hut employees sabotage the machine. The situation escalates and in the end David's family builds a wall between the two restaurants, while Fatima's family responds with violence. As a result, both restaurants are destroyed. The love between David and Fatima unites the families who decide to build and run a joint restaurant.

The script was written by Ari Sandel and Kim Ray and the film was produced by Bill Boland, Ashley Jordan, Amy S. Kim, Ravi Malhotra, Ari Sandel and Pascal Vaguelsy. Ramon Del Barrio was responsible for the choreography .
