Yvanhoé Rambosson (born March 3, 1872 in Antony , France , † 1943 in Paris ) was a French poet and art critic .

Life

Yvanhoé Rambosson was the son of the scientific author Jean Rambosson (1827-1886). The poet and art critic was honorary curator of the Musées de la Ville de Paris , an expert at the civil court Tribunal civil de la Seine and general secretary of the Fédération des sociétés d'art .

After the Paris exhibition Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et industriels moderne 1925, which shaped the term Art Deco , Rambosson started a new publication in 1926 together with the Éditeur d'art (art publisher) Arthur Goldscheider, entitled L'Évolution Artistique . Several booklets were published under this title, which clarify the concerns of the artist groups La Stèle and L'Evolution . A version summarized in two volumes was published for the English-speaking market under the title Artistic Evolution . In this, Rambosson and Goldscheider advocated greater involvement of the artists in the industrial production process and advocated cheaper serial production of the works of art. Their demand contradicted the French tradition of separating the production of unique handicrafts in small family manufactories and industrial series production in factories.

Rambosson was married to Gonyn de Lirieux and Adèle (Renée) Maubel.
