Yvon Mallette
Yvon Mallette (born April 1, 1935 in Montreal ) is a Canadian animator .
Life
Mallette studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Montreal and then worked for an advertising company. He joined the National Film Board of Canada in 1958 , where he initially worked in the documentary field. It was not until 1964 that he joined the animated film group under the direction of Robert Verrall , drew the backgrounds for various films and in 1967 directed his first animated film Boomsville . In the years that followed, Mallette was active in both the documentary and animation film sectors. His greatest directorial success was the film The Family That Dwelt Apart , which was made in coproduction with Robert Verrall and was nominated in 1974 for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Short Film.
