Alyssa Lampe (born October 3, 1988 ) is an American wrestler . At the women's world championships in 2012 and 2013 she won a bronze medal in the weight classes up to 48 kg and 51 kg body weight, respectively.

Career

Alyssa Lampe attended Tomahawk High School (Wisconsin) as a teenager, where she also began wrestling. She is now a student at the College of Northern Michigan, but lives in Colorado Springs because she trains there at the US Wrestling Association's high-performance center. Your trainers were or are John Arnott, Shannyn Gillespie, Erin Tomeo and Terry Steiner. The 1.55 meter tall athlete belongs to the "Sunkist Kids" wrestling club.

The first successes for Alyssa Lampe started at the national level in 2004. She won medals at the US Junior Championships from 2004 to 2006. In 2007 she won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships (U 20) in Beijing in the weight class up to 48 kg. That was her first medal win at an international championship. In the following years it developed continuously. In 2008 she won a bronze medal again at the Junior World Championship (U 20) in Istanbul in the weight class up to 48 kg.

In 2009 she was at the US Championships in the weight class up to 51 kg third and was then used in the Pan American Championship in Maracaibo in this weight class. She won the title there in front of Terri McNutt, Canada and Romina Gonzalez from Argentina. In the American World Championships elimination (Trials) she failed in 2009 to Clarissa Chun , who would be one of her main competitors in her weight class in the following years. In 2010, Alyssa Lampg was the first US champion in the weight class up to 48 kg, ahead of Mary Kelly, Sara Fulp-Allen and Victoria Anthony . She also won the World Championship trials ahead of Clarissa Chun and Sara Fulp-Allen. At the 2010 World Cup in Moscow, however, she still had to learn the hard way, because she lost her first fight there against Iwona Matkowska , Poland, on points. Since the Pole did not reach the final battle, she was eliminated and only came in 20th place.

In 2011, Alyssa Lampe took second place behind Clarissa Chun at the World Championship trials. In the US Olympic Trials she also came in second in the weight class up to 48 kg behind Clarissa Chun. But she won a struggle for the starting place at the 2012 Women's World Championship against Whitney Conder and was therefore able to compete in the 2012 World Championship in Stathcona County / Canada in the weight class up to 51 kg. At this world championship she won over Angela Dorogan, Azerbaijan and Roksanan Zasina , Poland, then lost to Sun Yanan , China and then secured a world championship bronze medal with a victory over Elenora Abutalipowa from Kazakhstan.

In 2013, Alyssa Lampe became USA champion for the second time in the weight class up to 48 kg. She also won the World Championship trials. Both times before Victoria Anthony. At the 2013 World Championships in Budapest, she won a bronze medal again with victories over Davi Nirmala, India, a defeat against Eri Tosaka , Japan and wins over Madalina Linguraru, Romania, Tatjana Amanschol-Bakatschuk , Kazakhstan and Melanie LeSaffre, France.
