Sun Yanan ( Chinese  孙亚楠 , Pinyin Sūn Yànán ; born September 15, 1992 ) is a Chinese wrestler . She was runner-up in 2012 and world champion in 2013 in the weight class up to 51 kg. At the 2016 Olympic Games , she won a bronze medal in the weight class up to 48 kg body weight

Career

Sun Yanan only started wrestling in 2007 when he was 15 years old. She belongs to the wrestling club in Liaoning and is coached by Lu Hai. She is a student and, with a height of 1.58 meters, wrestles in the lightest weight classes in women's wrestling, those up to 48 or 51 kg body weight.

From 2010 she started at international championships and was particularly successful in the junior division. Right at her first start in such a championship, she became Asian Junior Champion in Huangshan / China and shortly afterwards also Junior World Champion in Budapest, each in the weight class up to 51 kg.

In 2011 she was Asian champion in Tashkent in the women's weight category up to 48 kg, defeating Tsogtbadsaryn Enchjargal from Mongolia in the final. A month later, in June 2011, she was again Asian junior champion in the weight class up to 51 kg in Djakarta. In September 2011, Sun Yanan was used for the first time in a women's world championship. She won in Istanbul in the weight class up to 51 kg, initially over Francesca Mori from Italy and Maria Iwanowa, Belarus, but then had to admit defeat to the much more experienced wrestlers Samira Rachmanova from Russia and Jessica MacDonald from Canada and came in 8th place.

In the 2012 Olympic year, Sun Yanan tried to qualify in China in the weight class up to 48 kg for participation in the London Games. But she failed because of Zhao Shasha . But it was used in September 2012 at the World Championships in Strathcoona County / Canada, again in the weight class up to 51 kg, and won there with victories over Burcu Kebic, Turkey, Eleonora Abutalipow, Kazakhstan and Alyssa Lampe , United States and one defeat in Final against Jessica MacDonald the 2nd place and thus a World Cup silver medal.

At the 2013 World Championships in Budapest, she was back in the weight category up to 51 kg, where she became world champion for the first time with victories over Jekaterina Sergejewna Krasnowa , Russia, Irina Kurotschkina, Belarus, Julija Blahynja , Ukraine, Jessica MacDonald and Erdenetschimegiin Sumjaa , Mongolia .

In 2014 Sun Yanan took second place at the Asian Games in Incheon in the weight class up to 48 kg behind Eri Tosaka from Japan. In 2016 she was Asian champion in the same weight class in Bangkok ahead of Irina Borissowa from Kazakhstan. She also competed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where she won over Jasmine Mian, Canada and Vinesh, India, but lost to Eri Tosaka in the semifinals. But then she was able to secure a bronze medal with a victory over Jildis Eschimowa from Kazakhstan.

At the 2017 Asian Championships in New Delhi, Sun Yanan only came 5th in the weight category up to 48 kg. It was then not used at the World Cup that year in Paris.

Sun Yanan was on the Chinese team at the Team World Cup, which was held in Takasaki, Japan in March 2018. This also reached the final battle, in which they were defeated 4: 6 against Japan. Sun Yanan was shouldered by Yuki Irie in the weight class up to 50 kg.
