Vanessa Boubryemm
Vanessa Boubryemm (born January 16, 1982 in Tourcoing ) is a French wrestler . She became European Champion in Moscow in 2006 and Vice World Champion in Budapest in 2005 in the weight class up to 51 kg.
Career
Vanessa Boubryemm began wrestling as a teenager in Tourcoing in 1990. It initially belonged to the Lutte Club (LT) Tourcoing and later moved to Club Elceba Boulogne . Your trainers were or are Richard Chelmovski, Didier Favori, Gerard Santoro , Nodar Bokashvili and Benoit Schuller. The 1.66 meter tall athlete is a secretary at the Tourcoing city council.
She competed in her first international championship in 1998 when she finished 4th in the weight class up to 49 kg at the Junior World Championships for the age group "Cadets" in Manchester . She celebrated her greatest success in her junior years in 2001, when she became Junior World Champion that year in Martigny / Switzerland in the weight class up to 54 kg . She referred Kostantina Katerina Tsibanakou , Greece , Wiktoria Satschdimowa, Russia and Melanie Bechtel , Germany to their places.
After moving to the senior class, the international wrestling mat did not have any great success. After all, she reached a good 6th place in the weight class up to 51 kg at the 2001 World Championships in Sofia . In 2002 she only came in 13th place at the World Championships in Chalkida / Greece and in 2004 she finished 7th in the European Championships in Haparanda . She could not qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .
2005 was a very successful year for her. She first took 3rd place at the European Championships in Varna in the weight class up to 51 kg and thus won an EM bronze medal . She lost to Irina Melnik-Merleni from Ukraine in the semi-finals and defeated Alena Karejtscha from Belarus in the battle for this bronze medal . At the World Championships in Budapest that year she was even more successful because she was runner-up there. On the way to this success, she defeated Oleksandra Kohut from Ukraine and Tsogtbadsaryn Enchjargal from Mongolia, two absolute world-class wrestlers. In the final, however, she had no chance against the multiple Japanese world champion Hitomi Sakamoto .
In 2006 Vanessa Boubryemm stood on the top podium at an international championship. She became the European champion in the weight class up to 51 kg in Moscow . On the way there she defeated Georgiana Mihaela Radoi, Romania , Natalia Budu, Moldova, Oleksandra Kohut and in the final Alexandra Engelhardt from Germany .
Her next start in an international championship was at the 2007 World Cup in Baku . With a view to the Olympic Games in 2008, she had trained in the weight class up to 48 kg, because the weight class up to 51 kg is not Olympic. In Baku, however, she lost after winning two fights against Li Xiaomei from China . Since this did not reach the final battle, she was eliminated and took 9th place.
In 2008 she was runner-up in the weight class up to 48 kg in Tampere . You defeated u. a. Iwona Matkowska from Poland , but lost in the final against Maria Stadnik from Azerbaijan . At the Olympic Games in Beijing, she defeated Mayelis Caripa Castillo from Venezuela and the Russian champion Samira Rachmanowa , but then retired from the United States after a defeat to Clarissa Chun and came in 7th place. In 2008 Vanessa Boubryemm won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Tokyo , again in the weight class up to 51 kg with a 3rd place. After losing to Hiromi Sakamoto, she won this medal by defeating Jessica MacDonald , Canada .
This medal was the last medal that Vanessa Boubryemm won at an international championship. In 2012 she tried to qualify again for the Olympic Games in the weight class up to 48 kg. But she didn't succeed in the tournaments in Taiyuan / China and Helsinki .
Vanessa Boubryemm was French champion six times in a row from 2004 to 2010 and French runner-up in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2011 and 2012 in the weight classes up to 48, 51 or 55 kg body weight.
