The 1.62 meter tall athlete wrestles as an adult in the weight class up to 48 kg body weight. She learned the profession of a bank clerk, but has been a member of a sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr for some time .

At the age of 13 she already took part in the German youth championship in 2003, but had to be content with 10th place in the weight class up to 43 kg. In the following years things rose sharply. In 2004 she took 3rd place in this championship, in 2005 2nd place, and in 2006 and 2007 she was German youth champion. In those years it started in the weight class up to 46 kg. In 2008, she won the German championship title in the adult category for the first time in the weight class up to 48 kg. In 2009 she took 3rd place behind Sigrun Dobner from SRC Obernburg and Annika Hofmann from RSV Frankfurt (Oder) , in 2010 she was German champion for the second time, but in 2011 she had to stand behind Nina Hemmer from AC Ückerath , Jasmin Sefidroudi from TV Aachen - Walheim and Annika Hofmann are satisfied with 4th place. This place blocked her in 2011 the possibility to start at the European Championships in Dortmund .

Jaqueline Schellin's international career began at the European Junior Championships (Cadets) in 2006 in Istanbul . She took a good 5th place in the weight class up to 46 kg. Just one year later, she won a bronze medal in the same weight class at the European Junior Championships (Cadets) in Warsaw . In 2008 she did not do so well, because both at the Junior European Championship (Juniors) in Košice and at the Junior World Championship (Juniors) in Istanbul she only came in 9th place in the weight class up to 48 kg. In 2009 she got back on the road to success and won the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships (Juniors) in Tbilisi behind the Russian Lubow Salnikowa and the French Melanie Lesaffre. The 5th place, which she won this year at the Junior World Championship (Juniors) in Ankara in the same weight class, is also worthy of all honor. At the World Championships in Herning ( Denmark ) it was used for the first time in the adults at an international championship. She came there to a victory over Sümeye Sezer, Turkey , but lost to Lyudmilla Baluschka from Ukraine and came in 12th place.

In 2011 she did not appear in an international championship. At an international tournament in Tourcoing in March 2011 , however, she managed to beat her successor as German champion Nina Hemmer . It was not used at the Olympic Games in London , the German Wrestling Federation gave preference to the more experienced Alexandra Engelhardt. Jaqueline Schellin was not impressed by this and won the bronze medal, the only medal for, at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships in Sherwood Park, Canada with a win in the first round over the Mongolin Bajarmagnaigiin Dawaasüren , a defeat against Eri Tosaka from Japan and two more wins the German team.

At the 2013 European Championships in Tbilisi, Jaqueline Schellin managed to win another bronze medal in the weight class up to 48 kg. After that she could not continue this successful streak. Apart from winning two bronze medals at the 2014 Military World Championships in Fort Dix, United States and 2016 in Skopje, she did not win any other medals at international championships. At the European Games in 2015 she finished in an excellent 5th place, but missed a bronze medal due to a defeat in the consolation round against Valentina Islamowa-Brik from Russia.

She could not qualify for participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
