Sigrun Dobner (born October 28, 1983 in Erlenbach ) is a German wrestler .

Career

Sigrun Dobner began at the age of six years when caulking and Ring Club (SRC) Obernburg with the rings when she took her older brother once for training and she was so thrilled that she herself started with this sport. She attended grammar school, graduated from high school and successfully completed a law degree in Würzburg in 2009 . The 1.58 meter tall athlete competed in the lightest weight classes throughout her career, mostly in the weight classes up to 43 kg, 44 kg or 46 kg as a teenager and in the weight class up to 48 kg as an adult. Your coach in the national team was Jürgen Scheibe .

In national competitions she climbed step by step and achieved her first remarkable result in 1996 when she finished 2nd behind Sarah Ehinger from Germany in the international German championship for women in the weight category up to 44 kg . In 1997 she was the first German youth champion in the weight class up to 44 kg. In 1998 she won this title again in the same weight class, but in 1999 had to be content with 2nd place in the weight class up to 46 kg behind Stefanie Kullmann from AC Heusweiler . In 2000 she finished second behind Annika Hofmann from Frankfurt (Oder) at the German youth championship .

In 2001, she won the German championship title for the first time among senior women in the weight category up to 43 kg. She won another five German championship titles in 2003 (up to 44 kg), 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009, each in the weight class up to 48 kg.

Sigrun Dobner's international career began at the Junior World Championship (Cadets) in Manchester in 1998 , where she was runner-up in the weight class up to 43 kg, behind Micah Kelly from the United States and ahead of Natalja Groschewa from Russia and the Japanese Matsuoka. After that, it was only used again in an international championship in 2002, but won a medal again at the junior European championship (Juniors) in Tirana in the weight class up to 43 kg with 3rd place. In 2003 she was runner- up in the junior world championship (Juniors) in Istanbul in the weight class up to 44 kg behind Lyudmila Baluschka from Ukraine . In 2003 it was used by the German Wrestling Association at the World Championships in New York . But there she lost her fights in the weight class up to 48 kg against Park Ji-young from South Korea and Kamelia Tzekowa from Bulgaria and only came in 27th place.

In 2004 she started at the World University Championships in Łódź and finished there in 5th place (up to 48 kg). In 2005 she took part in the European Championships in Varna (up to 48 kg). She had two wins there, but then had to admit defeat to Iwona Matkowska from Poland and then also lost the fight for an EM bronze medal against Anne Catherine Deluntsch from France and came in 5th place. At this year's World Cup in Budapest , Sigrun Dobner finished 9th after defeating Fernanda Peres from Brazil and losing to Makiko Sakamoto from Japan.

The last time it was used at the 2006 European Championships in Moscow at an international championship. After a defeat against Cristina Croitoru from Romania, she came 8th in the weight class up to 48 kg.

After that she competed in several international tournaments and German championships. However, the strenuous study prevented her from building on these successes with adults.
