Yvonne Aaron

Yvonne Madeleine Aaron (born June 28, 1897 in Paris ; † March 28, 1987 there ) was a French composer and pianist. She also composed under the pseudonym Yve or Yves Nohar . Until the death of their sister Marcelle Aaron , they published works together under M et Y Aaron .

Life

Yvonne Madeleine Aaron's father was Ismael Aaron (* August 22, 1864; † 1919), her mother Jeanne Goetschel (* 1871; † February 25, 1919) They both married on August 24, 1893 in Saint-Die-des-Vosges. Marcelle Aaron was Yvonne's sister. Yvonne was admitted to the Paris Conservatory of Music on December 17, 1917. In 1919 she received first prize in a competition in harmony in the women's class of the conservatory. The jury was chaired by Gabriel Fauré . In 1920 and 1921 her work in harmony did not receive distinction. In the 1920s she and her sister began to publish compositions, initially works for voice with piano or organ accompaniment. In the 1930s , the two also composed works for orchestra that were performed at the Paris Concerts Lamoureux and Concerts Pasdeloup and also broadcast on the radio. So on April 2, 1932 the orchestral version of Écoute Israël [Hear Israel] with the singer Wilhelmine Coudray under the direction of Rhené-Baton .
