Yvonne Averwerser (born February 28, 1970 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She was elected a member of the Bremen Citizenship in May 2019 .

education and profession

Averwerser completed her Abitur at the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Kaiserslautern . She studied law at the University of Trier and the University of Mainz . From 1999 to 2000 she was a project manager at Publico-PR-Berlin . From 2000 to 2003 she was press spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group and the CDU state executive and from 2003 to 2005 personal advisor to the CDU economics senators Hartmut Perschau , Peter Gloystein and Jörg Kastendiek. From 2007 to 2008 she worked as a project manager at BID Bremen and WFB Bremen. She has been employed in the public service for the Senator for Economic Affairs since 2009.

Averwerser is widowed and has two children.

politics

Averwerser joined the Junge Union (JU) Rhineland-Palatinate in 1984 and the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate in 1988 . She was a member of the JU district, state and federal executive board and a member of the Kaiserslautern city council. She has been a member of the CDU in the Bremen-Huchting district association since 2005 and is active there in various functions, currently (2019) as an assessor on the board. She is a member of the advisory board in the Huchting district, where she is the parliamentary group leader and deputy spokeswoman for the advisory board. She is deputy state chairwoman of the CDU Bremen.

In 2018, the CDU placed her at number 18 on the CDU list for the 2019 mayor election and elected mayor in May 2019.
