The budget check with Yvonne Wilicks , formerly Yvonne Willicks - The Great budget check , is a prime time - reality TV format in which Yvonne Willicks financial management helps to optimize families.

concept

In the 24 episodes up to the fourth season, Yvonne Willicks looked after families who couldn't get by with their household money and created an overview of expenses and income on a flipchart . Here, the cases were in the majority cared not hopelessly over-indebted families affected by the personal bankruptcy are threatened, but ordinary families who can not keep house properly with their income and therefore had applied for WDR television for the support of Yvonne Willicks.

Willicks helped the families to recognize their misconduct with regard to housekeeping, nutrition and consumer behavior and to decide for themselves about possible solutions to improve their financial situation.

At the end of the program, the families in many cases had a monthly income surplus.

Since the 5th season, Willicks has been dealing with general household tips and product tests in her show.

At the end of October and beginning of November 2014, the program was also broadcast on Das Erste.

In order to attract families to the program, advertisements were also placed in online forums, which referred to information pages where you could apply by e-mail.

The first season started on March 8, 2010 with 6 episodes. The 2nd season with 5 episodes began on November 15, 2010. The 3rd season started on May 30, 2011. It will again have 6 episodes. The fourth season started in November 2011 and consisted of 7 episodes. In the summer of 2012, Yvonne Willick - The Big Household Check Extra was broadcast as the 5th season , which includes 5 episodes (food waste, knives, frying pans, coffee machines, garden furniture) and deals with general household tips. This concept was continued in the 6th season broadcast in January 2013 with cleaning products, pots, plastic, kitchen gadgets, mattresses and water.

criticism

Stefan Niggemeier complained in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung on December 5, 2010 that Willicks appeared as natural as “concrete grass” and that “the simulation of human warmth” was not her strength.

Similar broadcasts

Peter Zwegat is pursuing a similar concept with his RTL broadcast Raus aus den Schuld . There, however, the focus is on over-indebted households. The previous broadcast on WDR television, Der Große Finanzcheck with Michael Requardt (2006–2007) and Kay Bieker (2007–2008), which ran until the end of 2008, was also about restructuring the families' financial situation.
