Zëri i Popullit ( Albanian for "voice of the people") is a daily newspaper based in Tirana , which is published by the Partia Socialiste e Shqipërisë . The editor-in-chief is Aldrin Dalipi.

With a sold circulation of 5,167 copies (first half of 2001), Zëri i Popullit took seventh place in the Albanian daily newspapers.

history

The first edition of Zëri i Popullit appeared on April 25, 1942. For many decades, Zëri i Popullit was a party newspaper published by the Party of Labor of Albania . Its main editor was the future head of state Enver Hoxha for a long time . Zëri i Popullit was primarily the propaganda organ of the Labor Party during the communist dictatorship . When the dictatorial government was overthrown in Albania in the 1990s, the newspaper was transformed with the transformation of the Labor Party into the Partia Socialiste (Albanian for Socialist Party ).

Zëri i Popullit has been the official press organ of the Partia Socialiste e Shqipërisë since 1992.
