ZMP GmbH

The ZMP Central Market and Price Reporting Unit for Products of the Agriculture, Forestry and Food Industry GmbH was a commercial enterprise based in Bonn and most recently around 140 employees, which, in particular, forcibly financed by the entire German agricultural and food industry, examine the market in the interests of all market participants, should describe and make it understandable through its publications.

With a judgment of February 3, 2009, the Federal Constitutional Court ruled that the u. a. the financing of the ZMP contributions in accordance with the Sales Fund Act as a special charge are incompatible with the Basic Law and these regulations are therefore void. The ZMP's most important source of funding was thus omitted. Their bankruptcy was foreseeable. The liquidation of the GmbH was initiated. On February 25, 2009, its shareholders decided on an orderly liquidation . As liquidators Ralf Goessler, its former CEO were and Alfons Schnabel, director of the Chamber of Agriculture Rheinland-Pfalz used.

The ZMP ceased operations on April 30, 2009.

The GmbH, which has also been offering similar services from Bonn under the same name since 2011, is not identical to the dissolved ZMP except for the person of its last managing director.

In some cases similar tasks to the former ZMP have been given to the European Commission's market monitoring agency for certain agricultural products .
