Zhongyi Optics Electronics Co., Ltd. (Spelling also Zhong Yi Optics ; ZY Optics for short ; 中 一 光学) is a Chinese company in the optical industry based in Shenyang , People's Republic of China . The company, founded in 1984, develops, produces and sells lenses and lens adapters under the Mitakon brand name . Zhongyi Optics specializes in extremely bright lens systems.

Company history

Zhongyi Optics was founded in Shenyang in 1984 as a joint venture with a Japanese company that ended in 2004. Zhongyi develops, manufactures and markets under the brand name Mitakon lenses with Micro Four Thirds - Sony E - Fujifilm X - Canon EF - Nikon F -, Nikon-Z - and Pentax K - bayonet connectors . The company also develops telecompressors that are used to couple full-format lenses to APS-C or Micro Four Thirds bayonet connections with a suitable reduction in focal length . In addition, the company also acts as an OEM for other companies by developing and / or producing lenses to order. Some of the Mitakon lenses are also sold by Meyer-Optik Görlitz under different names .

The company gained greater fame when it presented the Mitakon Speedmaster 50 mm in 2014, which offers an extreme light intensity of f / 0.95. The lens calculated for the Sony A7 models has been praised for its optical quality in many tests. The lens competes with lenses such as the Noctilux -M 50 mm f / 0.95 ASPH from Leica , the HyperPrime CINE 50 mm T / 0.95 from SLR Magic and the 42.5 mm f / 0.95 Nokton from Voigtländer , However, it breaks the rule that extremely bright lenses are extremely expensive. As a result, Zhongyi expanded the product segment further and in autumn 2015 offered a six-part series of extremely fast focal lengths , including three with f / 0.95 (25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm).

On October 19, 2015, the company announced the Mitakon Speedmaster 135 mm f / 1.4, the fastest 135 mm lens in the world. It was delivered in a limited edition of 100 for cameras from Canon, Nikon and Sony in early 2016.

Since December 2016, the Mitakon 20 mm f / 2 is available, an extremely compact is full frame - magnifying lens for magnifications between 4 and 4.5 times with the disadvantage of a small working distance cm approx. 2
