Zacchaeus Andreas Winzler
Zachäus Andreas Winzler (* 1750 in Unlingen , † after 1820) was a German inventor . He is credited with inventing the gas stove in 1802.
Life
The first working gas lamp was put into operation by Johannes Petrus Minckeleers in the Netherlands in 1785 . On September 21, 1799, Philippe Lebon received a patent in Paris for a gas-powered heating lamp ("thermal lamp"). After these inventions in gas technology , Winzler succeeded in developing a gas stove in Germany in 1802 . Winzler was the owner of a saltpeter open-cast mine in Moravia .
