Zachos Terzakis

Zachos Terzakis ( Greek Ζάχος Τερζάκης ; born February 4, 1950 in Athens ) is a Greek opera and concert singer (tenor).

Life

Terzakis comes from an old Cretan family that has produced many poets and musicians. Accordingly, he dealt with music from an early age. In the University of Athens , he studied geology and ended the study with diploma from. During his studies his talent as an opera singer was discovered, which is why he received a scholarship for singing at the "Apollonion Odeon" in Athens in 1969, which he completed in 1976 with the assessment "excellent" and the gold medal. In the same year he won first prize in the competition for the “Maria Callas Scholarship”. Since 2005 he has lived in Athens as Artistic Director of the AKROPOLIS Conservatory and Professor of Classical Singing and Opera. In addition, he sings, composes and stages in many operas and concerts.
