With two friends he founded the rock group Helga Pictures in 1989 . The band was able to celebrate respectable successes, including a record deal, appearances at the Bizarre Festival and WDR Rockpalast and tours as the opening act for New Model Army , Bob Geldof and Blur ; The group's big breakthrough was denied and in 1994 the Helga Pictures disbanded again.

As Zam Helga and the Zulus one also achieved modest fame: Festival appearances , such as at the Strange Noise Festival , appearances at VIVA and in 1997 a Comet nomination.

In 1998 he gave singing lessons at the Schorndorfer youth music school, subject area popular music. In 1999 he founded the band Rauhfaser with two friends, Morscher and Tira . The group gained attention (record deal, album, three singles and music videos), but from 2005 Zam Helga toured again solo and worked on the two solo albums Ninive and Monster . One is designed as a rock record, the other as an acoustic album. In 2007 Zam Helga wrote the song "Sonnenkalt" for the musician Eric Fish , which he published on the album "Gegen den Strom".
