Eric Fish (born May 28, 1969 in Treuenbrietzen , actually Erik-Uwe Hecht ) is a German singer, musician and painter. He has been the front man of the band Subway to Sally since 1992 (joining the band in 1991).

biography

Eric Fish was a young songwriter in Berlin in the GDR final in 1988 . In the same year he founded the band Catriona with Jan Klemm (violin, violin) and Marek Kalbus (vocals, guitar) and built and learned his first own bagpipe (Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe).

In 1991 he became a member of the band Subway to Sally, which celebrated its 20th stage anniversary in 2012. With this he can show 15 albums with chart positions. In 2008 he won the Bundesvision Song Contest by Stefan Raab with Subway to Sally . In the same year he received the gold record for the live DVD of the acoustic tour naked . Tours with Subway to Sally took him to North and South America, China and Eastern Europe.

Since 1999 he has also been on stage with his songwriter solo program "Eric Fish & Friends". He is accompanied by Uwe Nordwig (guitar, vocals), Rainer Michalek (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Gerit Hecht (piano, sound). Since 2004 various live and studio CDs as well as so-called "encores" with cover versions of various songs have been released. After the band was surprisingly booked for the first time for the Wacken Open Air in 2014 , the idea arose to record an “encore IV: Wacken flavored”, which contains cover songs by various “Wacken-compatible” metal bands. The band also released the live DVD film tour film in 2009 .

In addition, Eric Fish has played for some time since 2005 together with other musicians under the name "Weiss".

In 2006, Eric Fish started his own label, Esox Music. The first band to sign with Esox was The Villains from Hohenstein-Ernstthal .
